When assisting artist Wyne Veen as an intern a few years ago, I luckily got the chance to make some free work as well. With a little help from the master herself, I shot this series called U.F.O. (Unidentified Found Objects).
Inspiration for this project came about when I saw dozens of plastic bags flying through the air after the weekly market in central Rotterdam – next to my home at the time. I collected kilos of plastic bags, shattered glass, paper and run over fruits after a busy market day. I sorted all objects by color and re-used the waste to turn it into these still life pictures in the studio.
